The Cullman County Democratic Party is looking to fill leadership positions.

In a statement sent to The Times, Chair, Lance Conn announced he is stepping down.

“I’ve served on the executive committee since March 2023 and as Chair for the past 12 months,” Conn said in the statement. “I’m exceptionally proud of what our small group has accomplished, but it’s time to pass the reins on to the next person. We’ve been able to participate in a few local events, most notably hosting a voter registration booth at the Sweet Tater Festival. We were also featured by ABC News Australia in one of their reports on politics in the US.”

The local party has been operating without a Secretary and Vice Chair for Diversity for several months. The party will meet Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025, at 3 p.m. at the North Alabama Agriplex to fill those positions and elect a new Chair. Individuals interested in serving as leaders or voting during the meeting should ensure that their dues are up-to-date. More information is available at cullmandemocrats.org.
