The council will hear a presentation from Dr. Ira Harvey, an educational consultant, who was commissioned by the Gardendale City Council to study the feasibility of breaking away from the Jefferson County Schools system. The study, which cost the city $40,000, was requested by FOCUS Gardendale, a group which supports pulling out of the county system.

The presentation will take place tonight beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the exhibition hall of the Gardendale Civic Center. After the presentation, those attending will be able to ask Harvey questions about his findings.
