Weather: A little chance of a little rain. Today will be sunny and warm with a 30 percent chance of isolated showers and a high in the middle 80s. Tonight’s low will be near 70. Friday’s forecast will be the same.

First shot fired in Washington battle. A lawsuit on behalf of 25 organizations related to the Tea Party movement has been filed against the Internal Revenue Service and the Obama administration. The suit was filed by the conservative American Center for Law and Justice, and charges that the IRS unfairly singled those groups out for additional scrutiny because they opposed Obama politically.

Holder under fire. Meanwhile, Republicans continue to call for the ouster of Attorney General Eric Holder, whom they accuse now of lying during testimony to a congressional committee about  his involvement in seeking phone records of Fox News Channel reporter James Rosen, among others. Holder is now facing a hearing before the House Judiciary Committee about whether or not he personally signed off on surveillance of Rosen; Holder claimed in earlier testimony that he did not.

Sports: Over Saban’s objections. The Southeastern Conference coaches have voted to keep the number of conference football games at eight through the 2026 season. The lone vote to go to nine games came from Alabama’s Nick Saban. The current scheme of six divisional opponents, one permanent opponent from the other division and another that rotates each season will stay in place… NHL: Referee Stephen Walkom is likely breathing sighs of relief, after Chicago’s Bent Seabrook scored a goal three minutes and 35 seconds into sudden-death overtime, giving the Black Hawks a 2-1 Game 7 victory in their second-round playoff series with the Detroit Red Wings. The Black Hawks appeared to have broken the 1-1 tie with a goal with two minutes left in regulation time, but Walkom had blown his whistle well behind the attack to call matching penalties against two players involved in a minor scrap, nullifying the goal and enraging hometown fans. Chicago moves on to the Western Conference finals against the defending Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings
