Weather: Clearing. Morning fog and/or drizzle will give way to mostly sunny skies and colder temperatures, with highs only in the middle 40s. Lows tonight will drop to the middle 20s. It’ll be slightly warmer on Tuesday.

Mandela funeral draws world leaders. President Obama and all of his living predecessors, as well as dozens of other heads of state, will pay tribute to the deceased former leader of South Africa in ceremonies today at Soccer City, the Soweto stadium that hosted the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Obama will be among those who offer eulogies at the funeral service, after which Mandela’s body will lie I state in Pretoria, to be followed by his burial in his tribal hometown.

Sports: McCarron, Mason are Heisman finalists. The longtime Alabama quarterback and the newly=popular Auburn running back are among the six players who will travel to New York soon, with one being named the winner of the 2013 Heisman Trophy. Both face stiff competition, though, from Florida State quarterback and Hueytown native Jameis Winston, as well as Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, who won the award last year… Girls basketball: It was an unusual double-double for Kristen Cox, who tallied 14 rebounds and 10 steals as Locust Fork demolished J.B. Pennington by a 56-26 score Monday night. Selena Hart scored 16 points and Jamie Gail Hudson added 10 for the Hornets.
