A Fultondale woman has been charged with stealing at least $47,000 from automated teller machines throughout the metro Birmingham area.

Kelly Fuchs, 26, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on eight counts of bank larceny. The indictments were handed down Thursday, according to an announcement by U.S. Attorney Joyce White Vance and Jeffrey L. Anderson, the acting special agent in charge for the Secret Service office in Birmingham.

Fuchs formerly worked as an ATM technician for the Loomis armored-car service. The indictments charge that she stole from ATMs between July 2012 and February 2013. The thefts came from seven different locations, Vance said in a press release. One of those locations was listed as being on Odum Road in Gardendale, where the indictment charges Fuchs with stealing $6,000.

If convicted, Fuchs could receive a sentence of 10 years in federal prison plus a $250,000 fine on each count.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Davis Barlow will prosecute the case, Vance said.
