Oct. 5, 6:30 p.m. Gardendale based-Building Job Skills for Americans with Disabilities (BJS) will have a fund-raising benefit gala at United Cerebral Palsy, located at 101 Oslo Circle in Birmingham. 5K Run, 1 Mile Walk

Creek Clean-up

Volunteers are needed for the Fall 2009 Five Mile Creek clean-up. On Sept. 26, 9 a.m. to noon, cleanup is around the Coalburg Bridge canoe launch.
