Katherine Horchler, age 85, of Hayden, AL., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2009. Funeral services were held at Hayden First Baptist Church on Friday, January 16, 2009, with burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Bro. Neil Blackston and Bro. Bill Lenard officiated. She was preceded in death by her father and mother Marion and Rebecca Hale. Survivors included husband of 59 years, Melvin Horchler; daughters, Sybil Jean Lovell, Vicki Dale Burns, Randy Kay Horchler and Connie Lynn Horcher; grandchildren, Laury Jean Sherwood, Jeffrey Dean Lovell, Angela Dawn Day, Jennifer Shawn Grooms, Anthony Kavin Skinner, Jeramie Dale Burns, Rhonda Catherine and Pamela Kay Brazeel; brothers, Oscar Hale and Archie Hale; sisters, Cara-Mae Letson, Delie Ethel Terry, Lula Collins, Julie Henderson, Francis Elizabeth Terry and Dorothy Dean Parks; and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends that are truly going to miss Mrs. Horchler. The family ask in lieu of flower stands that you would instead send living floral arrangements or green living plants that they will be able to keep, sense their loved one will be in a mausoleum and will not be able to keep floral sprays there.
