Two locals graduate from Huntingdon College
Two Gardendale residents graduated from Huntingdon College on May 9. Brittney L. Herndon of Gardendale received her degree in biology and Courtney Ann Parker of Gardendale received her degree in theater studies. Parker is a member of Alpha Beta and Omicron Delta Kappa.

Dillard receives UAB scholarship
John Dillard is the recipient of a four-year University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Collegiate Honors Scholarship valued up to $20,000. Dillard is a senior at Mortimer Jordan High School. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Science Olympiad, cross-country track, and golf. He received honorable mention in Graphic Design Art. At UAB, he will major in pre-pharmacy or business. He is the son of Phillip and Kelly Dillard of Morris.

Hill graduates from JSU
Caleb Hill of Fultondale graduated Summa Cum Laude, special honors in chemistry, from Jacksonville State University on May 1.

High Schools in north Jefferson County will be hosting graduation ceremonies in upcoming weeks:
• Corner High School: May 28, Corner Jacket stadium, 7 p.m.
• Fultondale High School: May 28, Gateway Baptist Church, 2:30 p.m.
• Gardendale High School: May 28, Gardendale First Baptist Church, 6:30 p.m.
• Hayden High School: May 28, Hayden football stadium, 7 p.m.
• Mortimer Jordan High School: May 28, Gardendale First Baptist Church, 2:30 p.m.
North Jefferson
Troy students graduate
Two area students received their degrees this month from Troy University. Julia S. Nelms of Gardendale received her M.S.N. and Amanda Leigh McCleney of Mt. Olive received her M.S. in Criminal Justice.
