Busby’s two-run homer seals Hayden softball win

Freshman center fielder Destiny Busby slammed a home run that scored two to lead Hayden to a 5-3 comeback win at Oneonta last Thursday.

Busby’ blast was all the pitcher Mara Conner needed, as she then got out six of the next seven Redskin batters to close out the game.

Conner would up with 10 strikeouts as she went the distance. She walked two and allowed three hits, though one was a two-run homer that put Oneonta ahead in the bottom of the third.

Conner also had an RBI on a sacrifice bunt.

Lead-off hitter Meagan Holt was 4-for-4, with a double and three runs scored. Busby was 2-for-3, and had another RBI on a sacrifice fly. for Hayden (9-2).
