Girls basketball
Mortimer Jordan 41, Gardendale 26: Haylie McCleney scored 16 points and Peyton Davis added 10 for the Blue Devils. Kasey Jones led the Rockets with 10, and sister Dionne Jones had seven.
Hayden 44, Springville 25: Krista Stricklin led the Wildcats (10-1) with 18 points. Mallory Ray had 10 points with three 3-pointers plus 8 rebounds, and Tiffany Myrick tallied six boards plus eight blocks. Springville was led by Audrey House with 14 points. The Tigers were missing two starters due to injuries.
Oak Grove 38, Fultondale 31: The Tigers led by 18 going into the final period, but the Wildcats rallied. Katrina Hubbard led Fultondale with 13 points. Oak Grove was paced by Summer Hicks with 17 and Natasha Hamay with 16.
Boys basketball
Gardendale 50, Mortimer Jordan 37: Zack Snow scored 12 for the Rockets with a pair of threes, and KD Gunnerson also scored 12 and had seven rebounds. Garrett Law grabbed 10 rebounds, eight of them on the offensive boards. Blake Renshaw of Jordan led all scorers with 20 points.
Fultondale 62, Oak Grove 58, OT: The Wildcats were down 22-9 at halftime but came storming back. Dre Talley scored 19 for the Cats, with all but one point in second half or overtime; he also had 15 rebounds. Christian McCollough also had 19 points with 11 boards, and Quantez McGary added 11 points. Griff Garner and Matt Bittle each had 17 points for the Grove.
