Janell T. Stisher

Funeral services for Janell T. Stisher, 72, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at Moss-Service Chapel, Dr. Edwin Hayes officiating, with burial in Valley Springs Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Stisher died Sunday, Jan. 8 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Dec. 24, 1933, to Earnest and Bertha Tucker. She was a retired school teacher, guidance counselor and realtor. She volunteered for various organizations. She was a member of ARTA, AEA, NEA and AARP. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was also active in the Red Hat Society (the Alabama Belles), Senior Spirit and the Recycled Teenagers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Watson Stisher; two brothers, Herschel and Harlis; and a sister, Marjorie Harrison.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra K. Eddy; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Cullman County, the American Red Cross, or one’s favorite charity in memory of Mrs. Stisher.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 10, 2006.



Deloris B. Reichwein

Funeral services for Deloris B. Reichwein, 87, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at Moss-Service Chapel, the Rev. Warren Ruland officiating, with burial in Cullman Memory Gardens.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Reichwein died Monday, Jan. 9 at Hanceville Nursing Home. She was born July 14, 1918, to Dennis and Rettie Fowler Burns. She was a bookkeeper and clerk. She was a 1939 graduate of Cold Springs High School and she also attended Sacred Heart College. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Walter M. Reichwein.

Survivors include a son, Walter M. (Kay Sanders) Reichwein Jr.; a daughter, Nancy A. Reichwein; and three grandchildren, Sarah Reichwein, Joan Reichwein and Trey Reichwein.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday.



Clyde Leroy Yates

Graveside services for Clyde Leroy Yates, 92, of Hanceville will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at Mt. Zion Cemetery, the Rev. Mark Long officiating.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Yates died on Sunday, Jan. 8 at Woodland Medical Center. He was born on July 26, 1913, to John David and Harriett A. Mitchell Yates. He was a pilot and a parachutist, a member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church and was the last of seven siblings.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Lucille Vonhieber Yates.

Survivors include three daughters, Hazel (Scotty) Scott of Hanceville, Tava Weide of Florida and Shirley Butts of Hanceville; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. today, Jan. 10, 2006, at the funeral home.



Chester Lee Wooley

Funeral services for Chester Lee Wooley, 92, of Colony will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Elder Chester L. Leeth officiating, with burial in Colony Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Wooley died Wednesday, Jan. 4 at Hanceville Nursing Home.



Roberta Lee ‘Bobbie’ Lipsey

Roberta Lee “Bobbie” Lipsey of Vinemont passed away on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, after a courageous and difficult battle with cancer. The former Roberta LaValley was born to the late Joseph Lee and Dorothy Fick LaValley on June 13, 1933, in Peshtigo, Wisc. Bobbie attended Peshtigo schools and graduated from Peshtigo High School with the class of 1952. She worked at the Golden Rod chicken plant in Cullman for 22 years, retiring in 1992.

Bobbie is survived by her husband, Clifford Truman Lipsey of Vinemont; three sons, Joey (Julie) Lipsey and Jamie (Ginger) Lipsey, both of Cullman, Jeff Lipsey of Vinemont; two grandsons, Clifford Adam Lipsey and Jared Lee Lipsey, both of Cullman; a stepgrandson, Tommy Phillips of Cullman; a sister, Jane (Harold “Bud”) Young of Wausau, Wisc.; a nephew, Tom (Wendy) Young of Green Bay, Wisc.; a niece, Rebecca Young of Wausau; a great-niece, Megan Young of Wausau; and special friends and good neighbors, Teddy Creel, Betty Roberts, Bill and Dot Sexton, Gene and Irene Robinson, Drennon and Janet Smithson, all of Vinemont.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Lee and Dorothy LaValley.

At the family’s request there will not be a formal funeral service. After the cremation, burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Peshtigo, Wisc.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hospice of Cullman County in Roberta’s name.

Thomas A. Junkin

Funeral services for Thomas A. Junkin, 74, of Good Hope will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at Hanceville Funeral Chapel, the Revs. Tim Junkin and Bobby Earls officiating, with burial in Bethlehem East Cemetery.

Mr. Junkin died Sunday, Jan. 8 in Birmingham. He was born in Gordo on April 13, 1931, to Amon and Lula Elmore Junkin. He was a lifetime member of Center Point First Baptist Church and worked at Pemco for 40 years as an aircraft electrician.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Jan Junkin of Good Hope; a son, Tim (René) Junkin of Dodge City; two daughters, Tanya (Joe) Howell of San Diego, Calif., and Tera (Kenny) Lee of Smokerise; six grandchildren, Scott (Magan) Junkin, Colby (Melissa) Junkin, Katie Junkin, John Junkin, Dianne Lee and Katherine Lee; a great-grandchild, Sam Junkin; two brothers, Ralph (Judy) Junkin Sr. of Gordo and Clatus Junkin of Fayette; three sisters, Ruth (Lenwood) Holliman of Gordo, Thelma (John) Sullivan of Columbus, Miss., and Mary Helen Daniel of Wilmer; and his mother-in-law, Myrtle West of Good Hope.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.



Lena Boyd

Funeral services for Lena Boyd, 90, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006, at Hanceville Funeral Home, the Rev. Lawrence Normand officiating, with burial in Cullman Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Boyd died Saturday, Jan. 7 in Hanceville. She was born in Cullman County on Aug. 19, 1915, to Martin John and Hattie Gund Goeller.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include a son, Tom (Linda) Boyd of Gardendale; three daughters, Glenda (Bob) Vansant of Hanceville, Martha (Wayne) Creasman of Roebuck and Martha (Leroy) Ray of Meridian, Miss.; five grandchildren, Zane Scott (Larissa) Bradford, Greg (Cathy) Ray, Tamara (David) Garner, David Boyd and Brent Boyd; five great-grandchildren, Emily Ray, Daniel Ray, Brandon Taylor Garner, Joseph Boyd and Jordan Boyd; three stepgrandchildren, Loretta, Coleen and Keith Vansant; and special family friend, Tess Scott.



Kathleen Griffith

Funeral services for Kathleen Griffith, 84, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at Hanceville Funeral Chapel, Dr. David McGowin and the Rev. Marvin Bryan officiating, with burial in Hopewell Cemetery.

Mrs. Griffith died Saturday, Jan. 7 in Hanceville. She was born in Hanceville on April 24, 1921, to Cornelius Greenberry and Idella Cone Hudson. She was a member of Hanceville First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include four sons, Martin Van (Laura P.) Griffith Jr. and Randy (Annette) Griffith, both of Birmingham, Brent Allan (Lisa D.) Griffith of Hueytown and Guy (Peggy) Griffith of Huntsville; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Thelma Pitts of Hanceville, Frances Quick of Pinson and Marie White of Trussville; a brother, Marion C. Hudson of Cullman; and special friend, Buddy Quick of Hanceville.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.



Floyd Croxton

Floyd Croxton, 87, of Cullman died Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, at his home.

He was a World War II veteran and in 1969 he founded Professional Coatings of Cullman.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Blanche Croxton; two daughters, Sherrell (Wesley) Floyd and Terri (Tom) Hardin, both of Cullman; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Morris Croxton of Ohio.

There will be no services. The family requests that anyone wishing to make a memorial, send it to Hospice of Cullman County at 402 4th Ave. NE, Cullman, AL 35055.

Arlene Marie Bennefield

Funeral services for Arlene Marie Bennefield, 66, of Cullman will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, the Rev. Jim Hampton officiating, with burial in Bethel United Methodist Cemetery.

Mrs. Bennefield died Monday, Jan. 9 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born July 1, 1939, in Plattesburg, N.Y., to Bill William and Merilda Mitchell Desoutel.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Garlond Wyndell Bennefield of Cullman; two sons, Johnny Bennefield and Ricky Bennefield, both of Vinemont; a daughter, Carla Myers of Vinemont; three brothers, Bobby Desoutel and Floyd Desoutel, both of Plattesburg, N.Y., and Raymond Desoutel of El Paso, Texas; three sisters, Mary Ellen Daniels and Gloria Durivage, both of Plattesburg, N.Y., and Susan Woodman of Loundan, N.H.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today.
