Bekah Myers’ two free throws with 2:16 left, plus her subsequent put-back basket 54 seconds later, put Gardendale in front for good on their way to a 38-35 comeback win over Pinson Valley Monday, in the last regular-season game for both teams.

The two teams battled closely for the entire game, with neither side up by more than five points in the second half.

Kaitlyn Plan iced the game with two free throws with 55.9 seconds left.

Myers and Taylor Powell each scored 11 points to lead the Rockets (12-16). Alganese Gaston and Kasey McKinney also scored 11 each for the Indians.

The win comes on the heels of a 39-35 win over Walker played last Thursday night. That game was a make-up of a previously postponed contest.

The Rockets face host Mountain Brook in Class 6A Area 12 tournament play Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
