Wild Game Dinner
Feb. 27 The 13th Annual Men and Boys Wild Game Dinner is coming to Gardendale First Baptist Church Feb. 27. The doors open at 6 p.m. For more information contact Allen Oakley at 488-8716 or visit us online www.gfbc.com. This is a free event.
Winter Wonderland Dance
Feb. 28 The sixth annual 2009 Winter Wonderland Dance with Edd Jones Band is scheduled for Feb. 28. In preparation for the dance, Jackie Tally and Andy Anderson will be teaching lessons each Tuesday night from 7 to 8 p.m. beginning Jan. 20 through Feb. 24 in the exhibition hall at the Gardendale Civic Center.
Singing
March 1 Pineywood Baptist Church, 498 Pineywood Road, will celebrate homecoming March 1. Worship will be at 10:30 a.m., Lunch will be at noon, with a time of singing in the afternoon at 1:30 p.m. with Sacred Harvest providing the special music.
Senior Lunch
March 3 All seniors are invited to be with North Gardendale Baptist Church on March 3 at 10:30 a.m. in the Family Life Center. Special guest singers will be Harold Freeman and his group. Enjoy good singing, lunch and fellowship. For more information call Marie Johnson at 631-4592.
Yard Sale
March 7 The 10-year-old G-Force baseball team will be having a yard sale on March 7 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Shoney’s in Gardendale.
Magnolia Festival
April 18 The eighth-annual Magnolia Festival will be held at the Gardendale Civic Center on April 18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The festival will feature arts and crafts, classic car show, business expo, carnival rides, inflatables, pooch parade, live entertainment and a variety of food vendors. Special Classes
Mt. Olive First Baptist Church will hold a new Bible study for men and women on Beth Moore’s Esther: It’s Tough Being a Woman. and Neal Jeffrey’s Man I Want to Be. Women will meet on Feb. 18 at 6 p.m. or Feb. 19 at 9 a.m. or Feb. 22 at 4:30 p.m. Men will meet on Feb. 18 at 6 p.m. Student books for women are $17 and men are $10. Free Child Care

Mother’s Day Out
Enon Baptist Church’s Mother Day Out program will offer childcare for children 6 weeks to 4 years old on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The program follows the Jefferson County School System calendar, so is closed during all of the breaks. For more information call 647-9614.

Brookside Greenway Festival
The 2009 Brookside Greenway Festival will be held on April 4 at Bensko Park from 6 a.m. to sunset. The event will feature the “Frenchie” Negron Classic Metric Century Bicycle Ride, Russian Wild Boar Off-Road Duathalon, arts and crafts, trade day vendors, fishing tournament, 5K and run run, canoe rides, an all-ages midway featuring rides and inflatables for kids, food vendors, cookie eating contest, motorcycle poker run and live entertainment. Critter Club
Ginger Tunnell (Grammy) is teaching “Critter Club” at the Birmingham Zoo. This is a one hour class for 3-5 year olds. They will learn about a new animal each week and have hands on experience with a live animal. This takes place on Tuesdays 10 -11 a.m. and 1:15 – 2:15 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays 10 – 11a.m. Register at the class or online at www.birminghamzoo.com (Education). Feb. 27 The Winter Princess 2009 Beauty Pageant Sponsored by Hayden Elementary School will take place on March 14 at 10 a.m. at Hayden High School gym for children up to five years old.
