The annual 10 mile yard sale on Goldridge Road is slated for this weekend. The event is scheduled to begin today and last until sundown Saturday.
Numerous residents along Goldridge Road — also known as County Road 1545 — participate in the community-wide yard sale, which has continued to grow with each passing year.
“Bargain hunters will be out early to see what kind of bargains they can find,” local business owner Joann Smith said. “Every year it seems to get bigger and better. I love meeting new people and everyone seems to have a great time.”
Smith owns Dad’s Place Antiques on Goldridge Road, and rents out space on her property for non-residents who want to participate in the community rummage sale.
“We have had calls from all over Alabama and some from out of state,” Smith said. “Dad’s Place has almost filled all of our 55 yard sale spots.”
The yard sales will run almost the length of Goldridge Road, from where the route begins off Alabama Highway 69 up to Etha Baptist Church.
Items available will range from furniture, pictures, DVD movies, tools, nostalgic metal signs, John Deere collectibles and everything in-between, Smith said.
Though 10 miles may seem lengthy for a yard sale, Smith said the unique finds available along the way are well worth the time it will take to travel.
“Ten miles is very doable, so go on this hunting journey and have fun with the whole family,” she said.
