The Rockets (11-4) took an early lead with two runs off three hits in the first inning. They added another run when Daniel Swann, who doubled to get on base, scored on a fielding error.

Nick Webb’s single to score Jake Eiland put the Yellow Jackets on the board in the fourth, but Belcher answered when his hit sent home Chase Handley.

Eiland hit a double in the fifth and scored again on another Webb single, but Matt Burnett was picked off at third attempting to score.

Eiland drove in Nick Glasnovich with a single in the seventh.

Gardendale starting pitcher Austin Vaughn had five strikeouts, but was pulled with two outs in the fourth. Reliever Josh Freeman got credit for the win, with Jeffrey Lankford pitching the seventh for the save.

Belcher and Lankford were both 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Rockets.

Eiland was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Corner.

Gardendale 10, Pryor (Okla.) 4: Pryor jumped out to an early 3-0 lead on three unearned runs in the first inning, which scored on successive Rocket errors.

But Gardendale came back with four runs off five hits in the fourth to take the lead, then scored five more in the fifth to take commend for good.

Jeffrey Lankford was 2-for-5 with three runs batted in and two runs scored. Barrett Edwards and Daniel Swann were each 2-for-4, with Edwards driving across two runs.

Swann got the win with 22/3 innings in relief of Kyle Large.

Buckhorn 11, Corner 1 (6 innings): The Yellow Jackets stayed within shouting distance most of the way, until the Bucks scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth, and then again in the sixth to end the game early.

Jake Eiland drove in Corner’s only run on a single, bringing home Nick Webb, who reached base on a Bucks error.
