Retired Army Col. Don Fallin to seek District 11 house seat

Retired Army Col. Don Fallin is seeking the District 11 House seat recently vacated by former Rep. Randall Shedd.

The Fairview native, who will run in the Republican primary, made the announcement, Thursday, Feb. 27, on Facebook.

“After graduating from United States Military Academy at West Point, I proudly served in the US Army for over 30 years in leadership and command positions in every rank from First Lieutenant to Colonel serving in Infantry, Airborne, Aviation and Special Operations Commands,” the post stated.

“Since returning home to Cullman after my military service, I have been active on the Executive Committee of the Cullman County Republican Party, the Cullman VFW post, the Cullman Veterans Park Board, and have served as the Chairman of the Board for the Cullman County Veterans Hall of Fame.

“I look forward to continuing my commitment to service to my state and district with honesty and integrity, bringing a grounded perspective to the district and serving the people of District 11.”

The special primary election will be Tuesday, May 13, 2025. If there is a need for a runoff, that date will be Tuesday, June 10, 2025 with the special general election Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025.
