LOCAL SPORTS: Good Hope’s Konrad named Athlete of the Week

Sophie Konrad produced a pair of terrific performances this past week.
The eighth-grade standout scored a team-high 16 points in a win over Danville to help the Raiders claim the Class 4A, Area 13 Tournament title before racking up a team-high 26 points against Wilson to propel Good Hope back to the Sweet 16 and Northwest Regional.
Konrad also racked up nine deflections, seven rebounds, seven steals and five assists while shooting 50 percent from the field.
She is The Times’ Athlete of the Week.
