Greenways meeting set for Tuesday in Gardendale

Clarus Consulting Group will host a public meeting Tuesday, 5-6 p.m., at the William Noble Athletic Complex, to hear from residents about where they would like trails and greenways to be located in their area.

Help celebrate tree-lighting

The Greater Gardendale Chamber of Commerce and the city of Gardendale invite the public to a Christmas tree lighting ceremony Tuesday, 6:30 p.m., at the Gardendale Civic Center. Various children’s choirs will sing carols.

FD selling holiday foods

Nov. 19 is the last day to order from the Morris Fire Department for Thanksgiving. Smoked turkeys, fried turkeys and smoked hams are $30 each. Smoked boston butts are $25 each. All food must be pre-ordered. Call Morris Town Hall at 647-0596 to order.

Kimberly sets penalty for trucks in subdivisions

The Kimberly Town Council adopted an ordinance to define the penalty for heavy trucks on subdivision streets on Tuesday. Drivers found operating heavy trucks on the restricted roads will be written a $100 ticket on their first offense and a $500 ticket for each subsequent offense. In other business, the council:

• discussed an issue with trash bags blowing off of “road closed” signs on Bone Dry Road. The council said this had caused confusion with some residents, and that the road was still open to regular traffic

• announced the town’s new Facebook page
