Jasper man killed in motorcycle wreck

A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 12:33 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, has claimed the life of a Jasper man.
According to a press release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Gary A. Decatur, 45, was killed when he was thrown from the 2005 Honda VT750 Shadow Aero motorcycle he was operating and was struck by the 2022 Honda CRV driven by Shawn M. Hatcher, 26, of Birmingham. The statement from ALEA said Decatur was not using a helmet at the time of the crash and pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash occurred on Cullman County 222, approximately seven miles west of Breman. Nothing further is available as troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
