Arrest made in Traditions Bank robbery

An arrest has been made in the Thursday, Sept. 27, Traditions Bank robbery in Dodge City.
According to a statement from the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office, Michael Jimenez, 32, of Jefferson County has been arrested following a bank robbery and traffic stop of the suspect’s vehicle in Chilton County. The Chilton County Sheriff’s Office made the arrest. Jimenez is being held in the Chilton County Jail facing a first degree robbery charge.
During the Thursday, Oct. 17, Dodge City town council meeting, Township Deputy David Pitts said the armed suspect entered the bank wearing a hood and sunglasses to mask his face as well as gloves. He then had the teller place the money into an empty potato chip bag before leaving in a white Dodge Charger which had its license plate removed.
“From the time the man got out of his car, went into the bank and got back in his car was a full 30 seconds,” Pitts said while updating the council on the case.
According to a press release from CCSO, the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office collaborated with the Chilton County Sheriff’s Office and determined the suspect was the same individual who robbed Tradition’s Bank.
“The CCSO, and Cullman County District Attorney’s Office are currently working on charges for the robbery in Cullman County,” the press release stated.
