A 5-year-old boy died from drowning Saturday evening at Smith Lake according to the Cullman County Coroner’s office.

According to reports from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, ALEA’s Aviation Unit, Marine Patrol and Highway Patrol Divisions responded around 6 p.m. to assist in the search around the Crane Hill area. The child’s body was recovered around 7:30 p.m.
