PREP VOLLEYBALL: Addison advances to 22nd straight state tournament

To the surprise of no one, Addison put its competition on notice at Thursday’s North Super Regional.
The Class 1A Bulldogs dominated Woodville (25-9, 25-4, 25-11) and No. 10 South Lamar (25-15, 25-17, 25-10) at Huntsville’s Von Braun Center to punch their ticket to the state tournament for a 22nd straight season.
Addison (39-8) will continue play on Friday against No. 2 Spring Garden — for seeding purposes and to chase its 11th super regional title in 12 years — at 10 a.m.

Class 2A
Holly Pond’s season ended Wednesday following a three-set loss (25-17, 25-22, 25-23) to No. 3 Donoho.
The No. 7 Broncos finish their campaign with a 26-15 record.
Class 3A
Vinemont’s season ended Wednesday following a three-set loss (25-19, 25-15, 25-10) to No. 7 Ohatchee.
Class 4A
Good Hope’s season ended Thursday following a three-set loss (29-27, 25-17, 25-23) to No. 8 Deshler.
The No. 3 Raiders, who opened the day with sweep of White Plains, finished their campaign with a 39-10 record.
Class 6A
Cullman’s season ended Wednesday following a four-set loss (25-13, 25-21, 22-25, 25-23) to No. 7 Hazel Green.
The Bearcats finish their campaign with a 30-17 record.
