FAIRVIEW — The Lady Aggies claimed a 71-23 victory over Ashville on Monday night to advance to championship game of the Class 4A, Area 12 Tournament.

Fairview (17-10) registered the first 11 points of the contest, held a 35-9 halftime advantage and had eight different players find the scoring column inside Joe Shults Gymnasium.

The Lady Aggies will play Oneonta in the title tilt on Thursday at 6 p.m.

“I’m extremely proud of my girls,” coach Justin Billings said. “We came out from the tip and played Lady Aggies basketball. We played great defense, and we had really good ball movement. We will enjoy this one tonight and then focus on Thursday’s big matchup against Oneonta.”

Molly McKelvy led all scorers with 16 points.

Other contributors included Isabella McGukin (12), Daisy Manasco (11), Katie Ball (eight), Payton Golden (eight), Morgan Lindsey (six), Maddie Yeager (six) and Emma Garcia (four).

% Oneonta 47, Good Hope 41 (OT): The Lady Raiders saw their season end on Monday following an overtime loss against the Lady Redskins.

Oneonta outscored Good Hope 8-2 in the extra period to seal the deal.

Bailey Tetro (17) and Ivey Maddox (16) provided the top offensive contributions for the Lady Raiders.

Savanna Derrick (three), Cayleigh Garmon (three) and Abby Neighbors (two) also delivered buckets.

“Overall, we had a heck of a season,” coach Justin Aby said. “Tonight was a really tough loss for us. Really feel for our seniors — Abby Neighbors, Savanna Derrick and Bobbi Johnson. That is the last basketball game they’ll play, and that’s always tough.

“But this is a year we can look back on … last year, we were 5-18. This year, we turned it into 17-11. I’m proud of these girls. They really worked hard, but we just came up short in this one.”
