West Point’s Amanda Dyer will play soccer at Judson College.

The senior made things official earlier this week, signing a scholarship with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) program.

The women’s college is based in Marion, Alabama.

“Although I’m nervous to play for Judson, I’m extremely excited as well,” Dyer said. “I went to tour the college with a friend and fell in love with the campus and soccer program.”

Dyer played only one season for West Point after transferring in from Indiana.

But she immediately caught the attention of Maroon and White coach Rob Whitesell.

“Amanda was a great addition to our team,” he said. “She’s an all-around athlete and contributed a lot on defense and as goalkeeper. I am really happy that she will have the chance to continue with soccer at the collegiate level.

“I’m also really proud for the whole soccer program at West Point. I hope in the coming years, many more of our athletes will have a chance to also see the benefits of their hard work.”

As for Dyer, she couldn’t be more appreciative of her brief time with the Lady Warriors.

“I enjoyed every second at West Point,” she said. “I learned a lot. Probably one of the more important things being communicating with my team.”
