Belk, AMC Theater closing amid COVID-19 pandemic

Belk stores nationwide are closing in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Cullman store will be closed through March 30.
In a statement, CEO Lisa Harper said the decision was made following the CDC’s recommendation to limit large gatherings and in an effect to protect the community.

“We understand this temporary closure can greatly impact our store associates, and we’ve taken steps to support them and their families during this time. Store associates will be paid for scheduled hours during this two-week temporary closure.” said Harper.
Customers can continue to shop at Belk.com and the mobile app.
On Tuesday morning, AMC Theaters closed down all locations for 6-12 weeks.
AMC CEO and President Adam Aron said, “We are ever so disappointed for our moviegoing guests and for our employee teams that the new CDC guidelines that Americans should not gather in groups larger than 10 people make it impossible to open our theatre. Still, the health and wellbeing of AMC guests and employees, and of all Americans, takes precedence above all else.”
