After three tough losses, the Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils need something good to happen for them this week. But before anything good can happen, the Devils need to restore their belief in themselves and what they’re doing.
“When you lose, you start questioning some things,” Jordan head coach Greg Watts said. “We just need to play hard, believe in one another and play together as teammates. If we do that, we’ve got a couple of home games back-to-back that we could win and get ourselves back on track.”
After this week’s match up with Moody, the Blue Devils return to region play as they host Hayden next Friday night.
The Blue Devils opened the season with two straight wins, but have lost three tough games in a row, including last week’s loss at No. 1 Cullman.
“We need to take care of our issues and keep playing and maybe we can make some noise at the end of the year,” Watts said.
This week, Jordan faces a club that has experienced some struggles of its own. The Moody Blue Devils (3-2) scored only 12 points last week in a win over Ashville.
“They’re a lot like us,” Watts said. “They’ve won some, but they’ve lost some and they’re trying to find an identity on offense. This should be a good ball game. We just need to get some things re-arranged and come out and have some success.”
