F’dale church to have yard sale next week

Fultondale United Methodist Church will have a yard sale on Friday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon. They will have furniture, household goods, clothing and lots of other items for sale at low prices. The yard sale will go on rain or shine.

• If you are looking for a place to have lunch after church on Sunday, you might go to the Fultondale United Methodist Church. There will be lunch served to benefit the CareNet Connection. The menu will consist of ham, baked beans, potato salad, cole slaw, desert, coffee or tea for the low price of $6 for adults, $4 for children 4 to 12 and children under 4 eat free. No reservation is required. The CareNet Connection wishes to thank the Fultondale United Methodist Church for allowing them the use of their facility. • I am sure most of you are aware that Full Moon Barbecue and J.C. Penny’s are now open. So come on out and support our local businesses.

• Congratulations to Attorney Robert Graham, who has purchased a new building and recently moved to his new location 1712 Decatur Highway, behind the old Winn Dixie. Robert is a great asset to our city and good friend to many. We hope he has great success.

• I would like to send special congratulations to Joseph Michael Todd Morris, who graduated from police academy on Sept. 24 in Montgomery. Todd was the vice president of his class and he won two out of three awards given. Todd is the grandson of Sammy Morris, the husband of Stacy Morris and the father to a 2-year-old son named Troy. They are all so very proud of him and we hope he has a safe and wonderful career.

• Most of you know Mayor Kenny Clemons of Gardendale is retiring this year. We wish him a wonderful retirement and thank him for all he has achieved.

• Word is the new Stix’s Restaurant “should” be opening in a week or so. We will let you know the exact date.

• I would like to send special happy birthday wishes to: Frank Vickery of our Street Department on Oct. 3; long time friend and gas department employee Kathy (Smith) Taylor on Oct. 5; street department employee Jimmy Parson, Jr. on Oct. 6; Ed Hawkins, inspector and good friend on Oct. 8; and street department employee and handy man to many, Phillip Culver on Oct. 8. I hope all of them have great birthdays.

• A very special happy birthday wish to my big brother, Tommy Miller of Warrior, on Oct. 9. I hope he has a great birthday and he remembers he is older than ME! I love you, have a great birthday and many many more.
