WEST POINT — The Town of West Point’s budget for Fiscal Year 2019-2020 isn’t much different from last year’s, but the town’s surplus is projected to grow.

The budget projects a small increase in tax revenues for the coming year, with a total projected income of $372,612.

With $312,004.40 in expected expenses, that means the town should see a positive balance of $60,607.40 at the end of the next fiscal year.

West Point Mayor Gerald Schafer said the town already has a surplus of around $130,000, and the town is debt free.

“We’re doing good out here,” he said.

The council also approved the purchase of new tables and chairs for the senior center.

“I’ve been on the council since 2006, and I don’t think we’ve bought any new chairs since then,” he said.

He said he expects the total cost to be around $3,500.
