The fire, which severely damaged a house along County Road 813 west of Cullman, broke out shortly before noon on Tuesday. Responders from volunteer fire departments at Bethsadia and Logan, as well as West Point, responded at the scene, along with rescuers who remained on standby in the event of injuries.

Fire crews had the fire under control within an hour, but it had already done significant burn and smoke damage along the full length of the building by the time it was extinguished. No one was injured, although at least some of the single-story home’s occupants were inside when the fire started, according to witnesses. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
