The Gardendale, Fultondale and Irondale fire departments strung up an American flag at the old Gardendale First Baptist campus on Thursday in honor of Shelton Waldrop, a Fultondale teen who died earlier this week after a three-year fight with cancer. 

Waldrop’s visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the church. His funeral is scheduled for Friday at noon, also at the Gardendale First Baptist South Campus, located at 940 Main Street in Gardendale.
