Flu shots

MONTGOMERY (AP) — Flu cases are still on the rise in Alabama.

A new report from state health officials says the illness is widespread in most of the state. Al.com reports that Mobile County is the only area in the where numbers aren’t increasing.

The flu has been blamed for 15 deaths in the state since September. One of the victims was a child, and the other 14 were adults.

The state report shows flu-like illnesses are worst in southeastern Alabama, followed by the northern end of the state.

Alabama is one of 47 states reporting widespread flu activity. People who are sick with the flu often experience fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, muscle or body aches, headaches, fatigue and, in some cases, vomiting and diarrhea.
