If you saw the Oak Mountain Eagles on film, you wouldn’t guess their record is 0-2 this year.
“They’re a good football team. They don’t look like an 0-2 team,” Gardendale head coach Chris Fancher said. “They’re well-coached. They’re sound and a very solid team. They’re a tough region team and I’m expecting another tough region game this week.”
The Rockets are coming off a tough home loss to Vestavia Hills last Friday, when the Rebels cause was aided by Rocket turnovers and penalties.
“We’ve got to eliminate our mental errors,” Fancher said. “We keep shooting ourselves in the foot.”
Fancher said the Rockets defense needs to continue doing the goods things they’ve done so far, this year, but they need to do a little more this week.
“We got to keep running to the ball on defense, but we also need to get off the field when the other team is set up with a short field,” he said.
Playing a third straight region game, the Rockets could grab their first win.
“This should be a good game,” Fancher said. “But if we take care of our business, then it’ll be a real good game.”
