A third restaurant in the Cullman Row East development along U.S. 31 South is set to open April 1, which is will also begin the activation of a new traffic signal.

“The comparison in quality is to Chipotle Mexican Grill. Diablo’s is know for its use of fresh ingredients and the company is targeting smaller or medium markets,” Ming said. “They come with an excellent reputation.”

The new traffic signal will also begin flashing when Diablo’s opens. The flashing caution light will last 72 hours, then the light will become fully functional, he said.

“That’s going to be key for diners and will help traffic along the area,” Ming said. “At this point we will begin to turn more of our focus to Cullman Row West, which was the former Fred’s building across the street.”

Cullman Row East was formerly a Chrysler dealership. The frame of the building was saved. The finished renovation includes space for four stores.

The development was announced by Ming in January 2018 and progressed with the opening of Firehouse Subs and more recently, Marco’s Pizza.

“We’re working hard to bring some new things to Cullman,” Ming said. “We’ve turned down some, because we’re looking at what we can bring here that adds some new experiences. The market is good in Cullman and continues to grow.”

Ming said his company attempts to use existing facilities to renovate and revitalize shopping and dining areas.
