Volunteers decorate veterans’s graves for Memorial Day weekend

- Volunteers working with local veterans decorate the graves of military veterans at Cullman City Cemetery on Thursday morning.
An army of volunteers are planting flags at the graves of American war veterans in Cullman City Cemetery and Memory Gardens today.
Veterans, students and Boy Scouts began work at 8 a.m.
Charles Johnson, an Army veteran who served in the Vietman War from 1971-1972, said an estimated 600 veterans are buried in City Cemetery, and another 300 in Memory Gardens.
Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion will also line U.S. 31 with flags Friday morning. The American Legion will host a program at Veterans Park Saturday morning at 10.
