The gospel group Genesis will perform at 10 a.m. at the town’s senior center, followed by a lunch for area seniors at noon that includes barbecue and watermelon, Mayor Tawana Canada said.

“We will feel like there’s a lot of fun ready for people of all ages this year, with the vendors, a car show and inflatables and a clown for the kids throughout the day,” Canada said.

Vendors will also bring a variety of arts and crafts to sell through the day.

If temperatures become a little warm, Ray Park, behind Town Hall, will have it’s cooling water feature running all day for a misting cool down.

Jack’s Hamburgers in Dodge City will host an all-day car show, featuring vintage and antique autos and trucks.

Battleground Trio will also take the stage at 6 p.m. for a free concert at the community center, followed by free hot dogs and drinks.

“We’re hoping to have a great turnout with some of the activities that are available,” Canada said. “The vendors will have some interesting items and car shows are always a lot of fun.”
