Blue Devils dominate Pats, 22-0

Mortimer Jordan hauled in its second win this season by shutting out Brewer in regional play, 22-0, at James Tucker Stadium in Florette.
All scoring in this strong ground game was done in the first half of the ball game, as the Blue Devils controlled the clock for the duration.
The Devils began their run in the first quarter with a 62-yard drive in 11 plays.
Marquis Dobbs put Jordan on the board with a 7-yard touchdown, followed by a good extra-point kick by Caleb Harper.
In the second quarter, Jordan accomplished an 84-yard drive in 10 plays, resulting a 22-yard touchdown run by Dantrell Purifoy, upping the score to 13-0.
Harper’s extra kick was no good.
Later in the second quarter, a 40-yard drive in six plays ended with a touchdown on an 8-yard run by Dobbs. Harper’s kick was good, giving the Blue Devils a total of 20 points.
Jordan scored again on a safety with two minutes left in the first half.
No points were put up during the second half of the game, where the Devils had reserve players on the field.
Purifoy led the rushing game for Jordan with 111 yards, 18 carries and one touchdown.
Dobbs had 64 yards rushing, eight carries and two touchdowns.
Jordan Boyd had 74 yards rushing on nine carries.
For the night, Jordan had 16 first downs and 273 yards rushing, 42 yards passing and three-of-five completed attempts.
The Devils had one blocked punt that cost them 4 yards, and one fumble with one lost.
They had eight penalties, costing them 57 yards.
Brewer had seven first downs, 85 rushing yards, six passing yards and 8-of-22 attempts.
They also had three punts with an average of 31 yards, no fumbles and eight penalties costing them 50 yards.
