Gardendale Police announced Wednesday they have secured a warrant for third-degree assault against Laquincis Vondrez Gurley in the May incident at Lexington Park’s pool.
Gurley, 42, is the person police believe kicked the 41-year-old mother in the head, during an assault that left the woman unconscious with a concussion. Police said at the time that the victim had a footprint on her face.
At the time of the incident, police said there was a group at the pool that do not live in the community. A monitor hired by the Home Owner’s Association and the eventual victim approached the group and asked them to leave. According to police, the event was captured on at least two videos.
Gurley has not been arrested at this time, but will be booked into the Gardendale Municipal Jail on $1,000 bond. The charge is a Class A misdemeanor.
