Ryan Marie Omenski and Alexander Volentine Green were married at 1 p.m. April 26, 2008, at Highlands United Methodist Church in Birmingham, Ala. The Rev. David Carboni officiated. A reception followed at The Country Club of Birmingham.
The bride’s parents are Dr. and Mrs. John Edward Omenski of Huntsville. Dr. Omenski is a 1980 graduate of Cullman High School and Michelle Chaffin Omenski is a 1980 graduate of Good Hope High School.
The groom’s parents are Lt. Col. and Mrs. Maurice Oliver Volentine Green of Birmingham.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore an ecru lace ballgown embroidered with seed pearls. The fitted waist featured a small satin bow and the two-tiered cathedral-length veil was edged in French lace. She wore diamond and pearl earrings given to her by the groom, and carried her mother’s rosary along with a bouquet of hydrangea and roses.
Sarah Beth Omenski and Samantha Joe Omenski, sisters of the bride, were co-maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Hillary Catherine Ballant of Montgomery, Jennifer Lauren Grauel of Birmingham, Caitlin Mahoney Ogren of Fairhope, and Emily Joyce Shedd of Mobile.
Andrew Mackenzie Green, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Andrew John Genova of Chevy Chase, Md., William Edward Blount, Jackson Bentley Owens, Robert Louis Crook III, and Samuel Brian Siegal, all of Mountain Brook.
Scriptures were read by Caroline Green Satterfield, cousin of the groom, and Mary Frances McDougald, friend of the bride and groom. Ushers were Christopher Hugh Daniel and Robert Smith Hunter, both of Mountain Brook. Program attendants were Heather Danielle Adams of Birmingham, Jana Elise Abbott of Huntsville, and Mary Madison Smith of Cullman. Wedding book attendants were Erin Susann Hudnall and Ashton Kaye Hudnall both of Fairhope. The crucifer was Jacob Brian Abbott of Huntsville, the flower girl was Annabel Caroline Hart of Mountain Brook, and the ring bearer was Christopher Michael Maloy Schmidt of Mountain Brook.
Music for the service was provided by Richard C. Phillips, violin soloist David Yoonsung Park, and vocal soloist Dr. Billy J. Jenkins.
After a honeymoon at Paradise Island, Bahamas, the couple is at home in Homewood, Ala.
