City School Board awards roof contracts, welcomes new personnel

Repairs for Cullman City schools damaged by the March 19 hailstorm can get underway after the Cullman City School Board awarded bids for the projects.

Porter Roofing Contractors, Inc. from Morrison, Tenn. was contracted for roof replacement at West Elementary School and Cullman’s Willoughby Roofing was awarded the bid for East Elementary’s roof replacement.

In other business, the board:

Approved 2018-19 Salary Schedules

Approved the Head Start 2017-18 Supplemental Budget Application for a 2.6 percent cost of living allowance in the amount of $24,482

Approved a consulting agreement between Cullman City Head Start and Essential Elements, LLC to provide technical and training services (Head Start Funds)

Approved a Community Partnership Agreement between Head Start and Cullman County Library

Approved stipends to teachers at Cullman City Primary School for Coding Training (Title One Funds)

Approved stipends to teachers and support personnel at Cullman City Primary School for medication training (Central Office Funds)

Approved stipends to Amanda Turner and Anna Anderson to help develop and update Title One Plan and prepare for 2019 Advance ED monitoring

Approved a contract with Amber Hembree to provide counseling duties at East Elementary School during the summer of 2018 (General Fund)
