Items donated to Victim Services.

The Cullman Elks Lodge #1609 recently used a Beacon Grant to support Victims Services of Cullman, Inc. (VSOC). VSOC is a non-profit organization providing women counseling for domestic violence and sexual assault. VSOC’s Harbor Haus is available to those women, and their children, in need of shelter and support. In observance of “150 Years of Elks”, members donated 150 new or gently used stuffed animals for the children.

Twenty-five “welcome” baskets for each new resident. Welcome baskets contained everyday necessities from toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, brushes, feminine products and numerous other items. After completion of their stay, each woman leaves with an “exit” basket filled with items to set up emergency household from dishes and silverware, pillows and blankets, cookware, detergents, mop and broom, etc.
