Rumors Deli has won the coveted Alabama Retailer of the Year Award.
Rumors owner Annette Harris said she notified of the award by the Alabama Retail Association this week. The deli won the award last year, too.
“I was surprised when I found out, just surprised,” Harris said.
The home-owned deli has been in business 18 years and recently moved to a new location at 601 4th Street SW.
“The move has just gone through the roof. We’ve added a pickup window for people who want to call in an order and we have a good breakfast,” Harris said. “I think being consistent and not cutting back things and creating a great experience for your customers has been the key for us.”
In a Facebook post, Harris wrote:
“How blessed I am to be able to receive this award for the second year in a row. Its been a long road with the move to the new location. I am so fortunate to have such a great team behind me. I could not do this without them and the support from our customers. Rumors has been open for 18 years now. Thank you for your continued support.”
Rumors is open 7 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday-Friday, and 10 a.m. until 3 on Saturday.
