The Brindley Mountain BBQ building in Fairview has been called a total loss after firefighters were on the scene since after 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Fairview Fires & Rescue Chief Doug Williams attributed the fire to a new smoker installed in the business.

“The smoker is in an attachment to the main building and it caught fire and just spread into the main area,” Williams said. “The building was built in the ’70s and had two roofs. It’s a complete loss.”

Firefighters finished their work around 3 p.m.

Brindley Mountain BBQ was not open at the time the fire started, Williams said.
