A single-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning has claimed the life of a Falkville teenager.

Falkville Police identified the victim as Jacob Shedd, 16, according to The Decatur Daily. Shedd was killed when the 2017 Chevrolet Cruz he was driving left Cullman County Road 1212 and struck a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Alabama State Troopers.

The crash occurred at 2:55 a.m., nine miles west of Vinemont. No further information was available. Troopers continue to investigate.
