York was arrested twice in August in Cullman County, once for felon registration- failure to register, and another time for theft of property.

Early Thursday morning, West Point Middle School received a call from a male, later to be identified as York, who stated all the West Point Schools would be blown up at some point during the day. The schools were placed on a “soft lockdown,” and Cullman County Sheriff’s Office deputies began to search the building for any suspicious devices.

During this time, Yutaka Technologies, located in the City of Cullman, also received a bomb threat.

CCSO Investigators began to work to Cullman Police Department Investigators and determined that York had placed both calls to both locations, according to the Sheriff’s Office release. At that time, investigators also found York was located in Kentucky and reached out to law enforcement officials there local agencies.

“First off I am glad that the suspect is in custody in Kentucky and we will be seeking to extradite him back here to Cullman County at the earliest possible time to face the consequences for his actions. We take calling in a bomb threat to a local school and business very seriously,” said Sheriff Matt Gentry. “Also, I can’t stress enough how much I want to thank the Investigators from my office and also CPD for the work the did today. Investigators do work behind the scenes that is often times not seen by the public but is very very important to solving cases.”
