Joyce McGriff Love
Funeral services for Joyce McGriff Love, 63, of Holly Pond were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, 2006, at Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, the Revs. Dink Lambert and Hughlen Murphree officiating, with burial in Union Grove Cemetery.
Holly Pond Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Love died Saturday, Sept. 9, at her residence. She was born in Cullman County to Elbert and Eula Ann Murphree McGriff. She attended Holly Pond High School, was a homemaker and attended Union Grove Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Willard, Dal and Dwight McGriff; and a brother-in-law, Dan Armstrong.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Michael (Lisa) Love of Guntersville, Mitchell D. (Connie) Love, of Holly Pond; four grandchildren, Ashley Love, Zack Love, Kaylee Adair, Whitney Lee; three sisters, Willene (Glenn) Clark of Arab, Velma Clark of Pinson, Janice (Keith) Hicks of Georgia; four sisters-in-law, Paulette Love Bryant, Pauline McGriff, Mary McGriff, Zelda McGriff; brother-in-law, Larry Love; and father-in-law, Clarence Love.
Pallbearers were Don Hanson, Chris Tipton, Matt McGriff, Lelton Creel, Jerry Creel and Jason Creel.
Mary Katherine Maddux
Funeral services for Mary Katherine Maddux, 84, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Jeffrey Bennett and Wendell Bennett officiating, with burial in Union Hill Cemetery in Morgan County.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Maddux died Sunday, Sept. 10 at Hanceville Nursing Home. She was born in Morgan County on Nov. 25, 1921, to Abby C. and Jane Widner Bennett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, D.V. Maddux; her parents; two brothers, Bufuss Bennett and Royce Bennett; and a sister, Madgie Belle Eubanks.
Survivors include two sons, Henry (Diann) Maddux, Wade (Annie) Maddux, both of Eva; three daughters, Patricia (Randy) Thornton of West Point, Linda (Bill) Waldrop of Hanceville, Judy (Ralph) Henderson of Eva; two sisters, Shirley Waddell of Hartselle, Faye Green of Lacy Springs; brother, J.C. (Reba) Bennett of Eva; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Monday.
Flossie Lorilla ‘Becky’ Collum George
Flossie Lorilla “Becky” Collum George, our loving wife, mother, Granny, Old Granny and Granny Great, went on to be with the Lord on Sept. 9, 2006. She was born Aug. 9, 1927, in Cullman County to William Lewis Beck and Lorilla Vance Beck.
Services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 11, at Cullman Heritage Chapel the Revs. Tommy Graves and Charles Parker officiating. Interment followed at Bethlehem West Cemetery.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Ms. George was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Johnny Herbert Collum, son William Collum, granddaughter Kimberly Johnson and great grandson Tyler Johnson.
She is survived by her husband, James M. George of Cullman; son Buddy (Janice) Collum of Waycross, Ga.; daughters Patty (Derald) Briscoe of Cullman, Martha Karen Johnson of Cullman, and Debra K. (Gary) Harper of Vinemont; honorary son Mark (Debbie) Campbell of Cullman; honorary daughter and grandchild Mistie L. Smith of Pulaski, Va.; grandchildren Derrick Briscoe, Deidra Smith, Cristie Millwood, Bubba Harper, Britni Harper, Tony Johnson, David Collum, Josh Grover and Lacie Grover; step-sons James George, Jr., Edward (Patty) George, Bobby (Pat) George, Jerry (Kim) George and Billy (Becky) George; step-daughter Brenda (Jim) Daniels; 16 great grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren and 11 step-great grandchildren.
Hetty Carter Sexton Hendrix
Funeral services for Hetty Carter Sexton Hendrix, 90, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006, at Simcoe Methodist Church, Richard Saylor officiating, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hendrix died Sunday, Sept. 10 at Cullman Long Term Care. She was born in Cullman on Dec. 15, 1915, to James Joseph and Georgia Alma Waldrop Carter. She was retired.
Survivors include two sons, Leonard “Lenny” Sexton Jr., Glen Earl Sexton; a daughter, Georgia Ann Shockley; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m.
Elizabeth Graves Perdue
Funeral services for Elizabeth Graves Perdue, 70, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006, at Moss-Service Chapel, J.C. Graves officiating, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.
Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Perdue died Sunday, Sept. 10 at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 13, 1936, to Garlen and Bell Hollis Graves. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Henry and Retter Graves and Thomas and Nancy Hollis; her husband, Oles Perdue; and her brother, Hance Graves.
Survivors include three brothers, Lee Graves. James D. Graves, Bobby G. Graves; five sisters, Almerine Wagenfuhr, Dorothy McCroy, Betty Carnes, Sarah Heatherly and Jan Self; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today.
