Richard Daily Rhea Jr., age 63 of Gardendale passed away, Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008. Richard, a native of Birmingham, was born Nov. 5, 1944 and was a 1963 graduate of Phillips High School. He was employed by CSX Railroad for 45 years. He was an avid tennis player and had a love for Alabama football. He was a Christian for many years and was an active member of the goodwill Sunday school class at Gardendale’s First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Rhea Sr. and Tommie Lawrence Rhea and his son, Keith Rhea. Surviving are his wife of 18 years, Joann Rhea, his children Chad Rhea, Patti Moon, David Randall, Christine Randall-Walker, sister, Joan Rhea, nieces and nephew and seven grandchildren. Services were held at Gardendale Chapel with burial in Oakwood Cemetery.
