Driving in the rain

With 2-4 inches of rain saturating the area since midnight, a flood warning has been extended to 2:30 a.m. with an additional 1-3 inches expected.

The National Weather Service in Huntsville issued the warning for Cullman County with reports of flooding across the area.

Flooding on roads and in low lying areas is expected so motorists are urged to be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

Most flood deaths occur in vehicles so “Turn around, Don’t drown” when encountering flooded roads.
