Happy belated 55th birthday to Michael Stewart on Dec. 30.

• Happy 12th birthday to Faith McCarty on Jan. 8 and to my Uncle Chuck, who turned 43 on Jan. 10.

• Gardendale-Mt.Vernon UMC will host a sermon series on Jan. 13 on the men Jesus chose to be his disciples. It will be during the 6:30 p.m. service in the sanctuary.
