The City of Cullman has earned its 29th consecutive Tree City designation.
In a ceremony outside City Hall Thursday, members of the Alabama Forestry Commission presented Mayor Woody Jacobs with a flag and proclamation recognizing the city.
“We’ll be looking forward to 30 years at this time next year,” Jacobs said.
The city keeps an arborist on staff to assist with evaluating the condition of planting of trees. After the 2011 tornado outbreak, trees have been replanted in various locations throughout Cullman.
