Mortimer Jordan senior Danielle Shears didn’t disappoint on Saturday in Birmingham.
Representing the Blue Devils in the State Indoor Championship at Birmingham’s CrossPlex facility, she earned a state title in her event. A leap of 5-foot-4-inches placed her atop the girls high jump standings.
Rounding out the top-5 is Brewbaker Tech’s Jalyn Bowen, UMS-Wright’s Gracie Hunt, Catholic-Montgomery’s Isabelle Cochran and St. Paul’s Olivia Beard.
As a team, Mortimer Jordan’s girls closed out the meet at No. 14 overall with 13 points. St. Paul’s won the team championship with a score of 85.5.
